Had Adobe CS6 Creative Cloud Licensing Issues All Weekend

Took until just as I was going to bed last night to get it working correctly.

Basically when I opened any program in the Creative Cloud Suite it told me my Trial Version had expired and that I had to either license the software or quit. It would show my correct e-mail address, but then ask me for a serial number (which I don’t have since I am using creative cloud). And not let me use the software without it.

Finally I tried telling it I was not myself, and re-entered my e-mail address and password, and then it logged in and re-licensed the creative suite.

Scary bug, especially since I lost use of the suite for a weekend. Now maybe I could have got on tech support and got it figured out sooner, but I hate talking to Adobe’s tech support in India, as I feel that unless I get it promoted to someone in the states that I am never going to get the problem solved.

Adobe adds updates to the Creative Cloud

Richard Harrington has the article on the new updates only for Creative Cloud users.

Adobe Illustrator has three new features — available only to Creative Cloud members — that give you the ability to package files, un-embed images, and do more with the Links panel. To access these features, update Illustrator from its main menu by choosing Help > Updates. • Adobe Muse – now includes built-in support for contact forms and many other new exclusive features. • Adobe Edge Animate preview – now has resizable layouts, rulers and guides, and a more precise timeline. If you used Edge in the past, you’ll notice we’ve also updated the name.

Glad they are finally doing some new features to the cloud, but I want them for Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop more, though any are of course welcome.

Some install issues with CS6 Creative Cloud

Had some install issues. Had to restart after install though it never said anything about that, then photoshop would not write preferences, nor would After Effects until I went into my library folder and made sure to change all permissions so I could read and write. Not hard, though made harder by the Library folder being hidden in Lion (the stupidest thing ever in my opinion).

All working now, but need to learn about the new features.

Adobe Creative Cloud is out

So if you purchased it is time to download or time to try the free 30 day trial. Looking forward to seeing what new apps or previews come out to keep it worthwhile over just getting the Master Suite or Production Bundle.

Adobe allows Pre-Order of Creative Cloud

You can now officially pre-order Adobe Creative cloud. It is $70 month by month or $50 a year, and will supposedly have a $30 a month special offer for people who own a creative suite, production bundle or the Master Collection, though that part of the site doesn’t quite work as of yet. And it will be out within a month, though will continue to evolve over it’s life and has additions that even the Master Collection doesn’t have live Device and PC Sync, Cloud Storage, Business Catalyst, Typekit, Story plus, Adobe Muse and Adobe Edge.

That and the ability to get Beta version of their software when new features will be released, and have access to every app (though Lightroom will take longer to join the cloud for some strange reason)makes this the way to go for Creative Suite users.

You can see their product comparison to see what comes in which version of the suite.

Adobe Creative Cloud

PCWorld has the article on this, but Adobe has announced a very cool new service that is going to get subscriptions out of a lot of us, and you can actually read about it at Adobe’s own web site.
AdobeCreativeCloud

It seems in the first half of 2012 there will be a new way to get Adobe Apps. Instead of upgrading the Master Suite, or which ever version of the creative suite that you use, you can do a $49.99, which comes to about $600 a year, and you get access to not only the full all of the Creative Suite Desktop Tools now including Adobe Lightroom (which was always separate), as well Adobe Edge and Muse online web creation tools, all the new Adobe Touch Apps for iPad and Android. You also get Device and PC Sync, 20GB of cloud storage, Adobe Typekit for cloud based web fonts, the digital publishing suite, and the community.

And of course that is not all. The coolest things is that you get aces to betas of all the new software before it is released to the public with the latest new technology previews in it. No longer waiting for new features, you can try them out right away!

Very cool! I think that is where I will be heading!
