Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival Presents Ukrainian Documentary Filmmaker Marusya Shuvalova this Sunday Sept 1

I wish we could be there as we have been looking forward to this for so long, but unfortunately our newborn precludes us from going out much right now, but if you have a chance, please go see this!

Check out there website, facebook, and instagram.

Los Angeles International Film Festival holding a Zoom with Special Effects Makeup Artist and Visual Storyteller Rod Maxwell on Saturday October 28th from 10-11am

The event is $15 and you can buy a ticket at eventbrite!

I am so looking forward to this! And I will tell you how it was! Can’t wait!

Both Grounded & The Misadventures of Bear are in the Los Angles Children’s Film Festival: Virtual Voyage from today August 26th to September 3rd and it is a Benefit

It is a festival setup to fundraise to bring young Ukrainian filmmaker Marusya Shuvalova, her mother, and younger brother to Los Angeles and San Diego for the screening of her two short docs with an audience; school and media appearances; and filmmaker learning opportunities with industry professionals. It is $25.00 so a great cause!

“The Misadventures of Bear” my short film has been released

My short film THE MISADVENTURES OF BEAR has been released and you can check it out on Vimeo, and give a good review if you feel so inclined.

The short was a semi finalist in 5 Film Festivals and an Official Selection in 3! The Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival which showed at Wondercon 2023 and the San Diego International Children’s Film Festival at Comic Con 2023were really the highlights (you can see some photos at the films website), so much so that I am working on a sequel that can hopefully go back to some of these festivals!

This was a fun little film to make, a way to show off my ability to shoot as well as to do visual effects and to do some puppetry as I grew up with the Muppets and have always loved Puppets.

I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.

You can also check the film’s web site, where I plan on posting some more background stuff.
