And I don’t have a laser cutter, though I do have a 3d printer, and am still making stuff for my spaceship. I need to watch more videos from Create Sci-Fi for sure!
It is a festival setup to fundraise to bring young Ukrainian filmmaker Marusya Shuvalova, her mother, and younger brother to Los Angeles and San Diego for the screening of her two short docs with an audience; school and media appearances; and filmmaker learning opportunities with industry professionals. It is $25.00 so a great cause!

The short was a semi finalist in 5 Film Festivals and an Official Selection in 3! The Los Angeles International Children's Film Festival which showed at Wondercon 2023 and the San Diego International Children's Film Festival at Comic Con 2023were really the highlights (you can see some photos at the films website), so much so that I am working on a sequel that can hopefully go back to some of these festivals! This was a fun little film to make, a way to show off my ability to shoot as well as to do visual effects and to do some puppetry as I grew up with the Muppets and have always loved Puppets. My short film The Misadventures of Bear, has just been reported as a Semi Finalist in the Hollywood International Golden Age Festival for March 2023! WOOHOOO!!! So that is the 4th festival it got into! We have the Kids First! Film Festival, and the 17th Los Angeles International Children's Film Festival at Wondercon, showing on Saturday March 25th, in the 1:00 PM block in Room 303AB at the Annaheim Convention Center. And it was a Semi Finalist at the Austin International Art Festival. I just feel so honored that my little film has been accepted at 4 Festivals! So exciting!
