Apple hosts WWDC 2018 and no new Hardware and nothing on MacPro

You can go to Apple and and see the new features announced for iOS, MacOS, AppleTV OS and Apple Watch OS. And things do look good, but there was no new hardware announcements at all. And especially no mention of the new MacPro. This is Apple flipping the bird at Pro users. As was all the talk of egpu support (which doesn’t support NVIDIA which most pros want).

Does this mean the MacPro won’t even be shown off until 2019? And if so WTF! And no mention if the next os will still support the MacPro 5,1! This is so insulting. Will pros be kicked off their machines with no sign of what the new pro machine will be?

I mean I like some of what was announced. The new OS sounds good, but can I run it?

Or should I have moved to Windows ages ago?

The Verge on the 22 most important things Apple Announced at the WWDC

The Verge has an excellent look at the 22 biggest things Apple announced at this years World Wide Developer Conference for OS 10.10 and iOS 8.

Still I was surprised not to see any big new product announcement. Not that what they announced wasn’t cool, but a big new product announcement would certainly have driven up Apple’s stock prices. Be it the iWatch, some home automation device, a new Apple TV with apps, or a MacPro with real expansion and NVIDIA graphics cards (HA, never happen, but one can dream). Something would have been great, and it will continue the talk that Tim Cook can’t innovate until something new does get announced.

Still new features do sound great, especially extensibility in iOS. Lets hope that we can now set other apps as defaults, like you will be able to with 3rd party keyboards!

Apple Announces WWDC in June, does that mean new MacPros?

Apple has announced the WWDC, or World Wide Developers Conference for June 10th-14th.

This would be a perfect place to announce a new MacPro as these are Developers, and this has been a venue in the past, though Tim Cook in his recent call said that they had new things for the fall.

Honestly if there is no MacPro announced at the WWDC, it is time to start thinking of moving to PC, as I just can’t trust in Apple anymore. And they have had years to work on a new MacPro and the current model currently can’t even be sold in Europe! They need a new model and it needs to be before the Fall (if it is even then, as all we know is that Tim Cooke said something about a new MacPro this year).

The only thing that gives me hope are the new video cards, the NVIDIA Quadro 5000k and the GTX 680 being released for Mac.
