Philip Bloom has gotten and unboxed his Blackmagic Design Camera, though not really used it much to test yet. Worth checking out.

Macworld has an article on enabling 2 step verification via either text messages or via the Google Authenticator App on iOS.
I wish more places would implement this, but I have it for GMAIL, Lastpass, and now DropBox. It means not only do you need to put in your password, but a code that changes ever 30 seconds, from your iPhone. Much more secure than just a password.
From Todd Kopriva at Adobe. And over at NVIDIA. Causes crashes when going from Safari to Premiere Pro.
Hmm, doesn’t sound like the same issue that I have been having, but hopefully it is similar, and accounts for the Premiere Pro instability.
Cheesy Cam has the article on the new waterproof GoPro competitor from Sony.
Very cool to image stabilization, and a quick release plate, and even cooler 120FPS at 720p! THAT ROCKS!

HD Warrior has a good comparison of the Canon C100 and the Sony FS700. Of course this is without getting it’s hands on the C100 as it has only just been announced.
Hand Held Hollywood has the story. Final Draft has finally released more than Reader and you can now fully edit and write screenplays on the iPad. And while other apps have done it in the past, it looks like Final Draft does it better, and has perfect compatibility with the desktop version. And has the best version of shortcuts for switching elements yet seen in a screenwriting app on the iPad.
Looking forward to giving it a spin.
Richard Harrington has the article on the new updates only for Creative Cloud users.
• Adobe Illustrator has three new features — available only to Creative Cloud members — that give you the ability to package files, un-embed images, and do more with the Links panel. To access these features, update Illustrator from its main menu by choosing Help > Updates. • Adobe Muse – now includes built-in support for contact forms and many other new exclusive features. • Adobe Edge Animate preview – now has resizable layouts, rulers and guides, and a more precise timeline. If you used Edge in the past, you’ll notice we’ve also updated the name.
Glad they are finally doing some new features to the cloud, but I want them for Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop more, though any are of course welcome.
Check it out over at DIY photography. Looks very easy to make. Might have to build one.
Canon has announced the release of the EOS C100 Video Camera with 1920×1080 resolution on a Super 35MM sensor for $7999. Making a more affordable addition to their new cinema camera lineup. It is scheduled to ship in November.
With the 4K C500 shipping for $30,000 in October, the currently shipping 2K C300 for $15999, they now have a much more reasonably priced cousin.
It is 4:2:0 instead of 4:2:2, but is 15% smaller with only a an EF mount and no RAW recording, but does inclue XLR inputs which is great.
Canon is also releasing 2 more EF prime mounts a 14mm t3.1 and a 125mm t2.2 ready for 4K shooting.
