No Film School on Rumored AVID Sale
From Jourdan Aldredge at No Film School.
There is no reason for Apple or BlackMagic to buy AVID, though maybe the AMPTP would? I don’t know, but I don’t think AVID will go away.
“The Misadventures of Bear” my short film has been released
My short film THE MISADVENTURES OF BEAR has been released and you can check it out on Vimeo, and give a good review if you feel so inclined.
The short was a semi finalist in 5 Film Festivals and an Official Selection in 3! The Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival which showed at Wondercon 2023 and the San Diego International Children’s Film Festival at Comic Con 2023were really the highlights (you can see some photos at the films website), so much so that I am working on a sequel that can hopefully go back to some of these festivals!
This was a fun little film to make, a way to show off my ability to shoot as well as to do visual effects and to do some puppetry as I grew up with the Muppets and have always loved Puppets.
I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.
You can also check the film’s web site, where I plan on posting some more background stuff.

MacRumors iOS 17 Enables Cinematic Mode Video Editing in Third Party Apps
From Joe Rossignol at MacRumors, this is exciting news, though I hope they add it to Mac as well, so it can be added to Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, since those are my editors of choice.
