CUt/DAILY #442 (Free Registration Required) is on using multicam and AI to create a trailer or reel for a documentary. Pretty interesting and how this can speed things up and find clips, though also a little scary as this may in the future keep editors from ever viewing all their footage, which I see as a huge mistake! Still speeding up finding clips is always a good thing.
Cut/Daily #378 is another interesting post, this on documentary editing. I don’t quite agree on the interview always bring the most compelling, but that could be my bias from cutting so much behind the scenes documentaries, where the b-roll and photos can be the most compelling. The music thing is very true though.
Kino Eye has an article on setting up a Documentary Starter Kit with Consumer Gear.I don't know any of this gear, though I do have a consumer canon HV20 HDV camera and love it, so hopefully their quality has kept up.
