This sounds insane, check it out at Cut/Daily (free registration required).
This is insane! So basically with a powerful server you stream your media frame by frame and can edit anywhere with an internet connection without downloading media (so much more secure way to remotely edit).
THIS IS THE FUTURE!
CUT/DAILY #437 : Be Conventional. Is all about the importance of file naming correctly, and I 100% agree.
Every project needs a simple and effective naming convention for tracking everything, and it should be followed exactly on every job.
Every company I work for doesn’t follow any naming conventions and it is literally insane. Literally I am not even given consistent job numbers or names, ever.
And the naming should be matched with file structure on the hard drives.
Without organization going back will always be hard, but with it finding stuff is easy.
Not sure I really need to do lists in Premiere as I just take my illegible notes, but interesting.
And SparkFX for Resolve looks quite interesting, but another damn plug in subscription does piss me off a bit.
Another great interview from PostPerpective, and this one by Iain Blair.
Conclave was amazing, certainly one of the best films of the year. I am not into religion or religious stories, but this one is damn engaging.
Another great read from CUT/DAILY (free registration required).
I did really enjoy the recent adaption of Shogun though I am a little scared of a sequel which has no book and having lost its best character and actress (sure there are the actual events SHOGUN was based on, so maybe adaption will work).
I can honestly say I would love it if it was lighter, and now that it can do 2 4k screens, though I would likely need 3, and at current resolution I am not sure that would work. I would say once it is in my normal glasses, and maybe in conjunction with my screens?

Cut/Daily #384 an editing keyboard!
Surprisingly I have never owned one because I have never seen one for ergonomic keyboard users or I would have bought them years ago. And I think LED in key keyboards would be even better, but again no ergonomic versions. I always used to have them in AVID bays, which was nice.
