No Film School on the Meaning of “F/8 and Be There” and Why Should You Embrace This Mantra
Alyssa Miller has this interesting article on the sweat spot of many lenses, and it is worth a read. Sure it was different when this was initially stated since it was large format cameras, meaning F/8 was much less depth of field than modern cameras, but still, it is a pretty much sweet spot on most lenses.
No Film School on Deity Microphones with Timecode
Charles Haine at No Film School reviews the new Deity BP-TRX wireless microphones that also supply timecode! Of course they are $249 each, so you would need 3 to jam sync a camera and have 2 mics, but the with timecode is compelling. Especially since as an editor I almost never get perfect jam sync timecode on my audio.
No Film School on 3 Inexpensive Accessories to rig your camera with
These are sponsored links from BH, but still pretty inexpensive. I didn’t realize you could do wireless video for $369.
RedShark on what High Definition Looked like in 1990

RedShark on OM Systems releasing the last Olympus Camera the OM-1 with 4k 60P video
RedShark has an announcement on the new OM System’s OM-1 the last camera with the Olypmpus Branding. and it is a 4K powerhouse, though only records internally in H.264 and H.265 video with 4:2:2 color resolution (It needs an Atomos to record ProRES). It has not been priced as of yet.
Canon releases the Hybrid EOS R5 C with Still and Video Modes
Canon has released it’s EOS R5 C with Video and Photo modes, and basically fixes the video modes of the R5, with a huge cooling system attached to the back of the camera. It is $4500 though, $500 more than the standard R5, but it doesn’t have time limits on it’s 8K Video Capabilities. And it actually has modes for video and still, where the camera reboots in between.
I will never know why they remove image stabilization from the body which is in the R5, and built in ND would have been nice since the BMPCC 6k Pro includes it at about half the price.
There are already some video reviews up.

If you do any shooting this is well worth a read and has quite a few videos on LED lights and inexpensive lights to use for video.
