Got an e-mail from Maxon, and Red Giant’s PluralEyes is to Enter Limited Maintenance Mode

Got this in an e-mail from Maxon, that basically PluralEyes from Maxon, formerly Red Giant is no longer being developed. Now this was a revolutionary program that would sync your audio to video (if it had reference audio) and was the first of it's kind. Now that it is going, every NLE has Waveform audio syncing built in, so it hasn't been necessary for years. But it is still a little sad to see it go. Still lets hope that this means Maxon has more time to develop new tools for it's Plug In suits.

Film Editing Pro on Multicams or Merge Clips in Premiere Pro

Film Editing Pro has an good article on using Multicams vs Merge Clips in Premiere Pro. Now like Sofi Marshall I do like Merge clips, but just wish Adobe would fix them, getting rid of meta data and not being able to go back to original clips without exporting an xml and re-importing (and the fact that this works shows that Merge clips still has the data somewhere). And I don't like single angle clips to be multicam, but they are right that as it is now Multi-cam is slightly superior. Still might just switch back to using Red Giant (or should I say Maxon) Plural eyes and sequences unless Adobe does something about Merge clips.

Red Giant has killed it’s shooter suite except PluralEyes as of September 8th, 2020

So Red Giant has killed it's Shooter suite except for PluralEyes as of September 8th. I always hate seeing tools go, and i will miss having Offload for sure for shooting. It might not have been the best tool but it worked and I already owned it. And I did use Instant 4K as well.Lets hope they add some other good tools to Red Giant now that they have less tools to worry about.

Plural Eyes 2 Licensing has Changed

Since RedGiant bought PluralEyes and DualEyes, the licensing has changed, so you need to head over to RedGiant to get a new installer and a new license to make it work again. A pain, but i love RedGiant, so it is OK.

Red Giant has Acquired Singular Software

Got an e-mail from Singular Software this morning saying they have been purchased by Red Giant. Singular's Plural Eyes is awesome software and I love Red Giant's software as well, so hopefully it will be a match made in heaven. You can read about it at Red Giant's Web Site. And you can continue to purchase Singular Software from their web site until everything is moved under the Red Giant brand. They are taking the entire Singular Software Team, so the same great software should be coming including the upcoming Plural Eyes 3, which we have already seen the beta of.

PVC Reviews Plural Eyes 3

PVC and Scott Simmons have an excellent preview of the stand alone Plural Eyes 3 from NAB. I can’t wait, and hope that at least Premiere Pro and Avid can be integrated in the single app! Especially since they are trying to group clips after syncing in FCP like they do in Premiere and FCP.
