PVC on Smoke
The ProVideo Coalition has an excellent 2 part article on Autodesk Smoke by Brian Mulligan.
Part 1 is here.
Part 2 is here.
Hopefully there will be more. I would love to run and learn smoke, but just don’t have the money.

Ten One Design has released info on it’s upcoming pressure sensative bluetooth pen for the iPad. Right now it is code named Blue Tiger.
No info on price, and it will just work like a normal iPad pen for apps that don’t use there already released SDK, but from this video this is going to awesome!
I totally want one, as I have always thought that the iPad sorely needed a stylus to make it a really powerful art tool. I can’t wait for this, and the LED color button is so very cool.
Adobe has upgraded Lightroom to version 4.0 and dropped the price to $149 for the full software or $79 for an upgrade. Of course this will also now be part of the Adobe Creative Cloud released later this year, so many might be waiting for that to come out even though from the beta it is a vast improvement over the previous version. This is worth the upgrade for the superior image technology alone which we saw a beta of recently that blows the old versions out of the water.
New Features Include:

TUAW is reporting that AT&T has officially set it’s data throttling at 3G a month for their legacy unlimited data plans.
This is obviously in response to them losing at small claims for throttling an unlimited customer, but I bet there is still a class action law suite here as we all signed up for unlimited not throttled 3GB for 3GB or 5GB for 4G.
Macworld has the announcement of the new Intuos5 Pen tablets which now support multiouch and gestures. They are $229, $359 and $469 and can be made wireless with a $39 accessory kit.
Hmm, I wonder how well this will work. Isn’t it going to read your hand which can rest on the tablet area? Wonder if this can be switched off?
FCP X has a video from the LA Final Cut Pro User Group on bringing FCP 7 projects to FCP X with 7tox.
MacTech has the press release, that Revision Fx has released a FCP X compatible version of Twixtor. It is $329.95, and is not the full pro version.
DIY Photography has the article on this new Kickstarter Case for a GoPro camera to really give it some serious protection.
It is a bit expensive at $328, but is solid aluminum and features a self tightening door, that can tell when it is thrown.
They also have the less expensive Headgear case which wraps around the gopro.
Pretty interesting, though a bit more than the actual camera. Still pretty cool idea.

CanonRumors has the news on Canon’s new 600EX-RT Speedlite with wireless transmitter built in! Very very cool! They should have done this ages ago, but it is brilliant to have this built in.
And even better no response to my first or second e-mail to support. At this point even if they do add back the friends RSS feed, I want a refund of the rest of my subscription because they are just ignoring the e-mails of a paid customer! That is not customer service and is totally unacceptable!
500PX removed the features I found most useful on their site, and though they have put some back, they have not put them all back. It is time for my to contact my bank in getting back a refund, because 500px won’t even respond to me.
